WAR ON MORON

Earth , as far as we know the only place life exists anywhere in Universe, a special place, rare, unique, fragile, irreplaceable, our home - All the people of earth are all in grave danger, not from terrorists or natural forces, not from climate change or disease but from the dark forces of Moron. Moron ! the dark lord of stupidity , the bringer of dumb, the harbinger of delusion, ignorance and darkness. The maintainer of mumbo jumbo , hocus pocus and gobble d gook, whos shadow we are all born under. His disciples the Morons do his work , spreading dumb, doing dumb , being dumb and the dumbness envelopes us all in a great dark cloak of ignorance. For these are the Dim AGES. Belief and delusion, the pillars of Morons evil work, abound across the earth , Imaginary beings, unsustainable economics, the destruction of life for profit. Moron feeds on the fantasy lives of billions of Humans as they grope though the glory of existence hobbled by collective stupidity, blinded by ignorance, crippled by lies. Unless we fight them Morons will destroy us and our home the earth , morons will make you and your children stupid, morons believe anything and will kill you if you don't believe it as well, morons are everywhere and the dark lord moron is making more every day...Now is the time to take sides, to stand with The Astronomers on the eternal road of infinite study , on side of light and life and knowledge, to praise the laws of physics and spread the sacred facts . and all other things that we may know, and to while morons believe, for none will be spared and none will be untouched in - The WAR ON Moron - Morons who believe without question , who have faith but no facts , morons who claim a higher hand guides them to be dumb, commands them to be stupid and encourages their ignorance, must be stopped. Only Morons can destroy life and claim a higher purpose, morons are base, merciless, killers whos dogma bigotry prejudice fear and loathing has doomed humanity to millenia of ignorance and suffering. We The Astronomers must fight Moron’s before his dominion over the people of the earth is complete , before believing becomes compulsoy once more, before this brief window of light is snuffed out and the tyrrany of dogma returns, before Morons, in the senseless quest for wealth, destroy more of earth and its life. We are all born morons but By ridding ourselves of ignorance we are saved from stupidity and dumbness. So it is for the world armed with knowledge, spreading the facts, shining the light of enquiry , we Fight to save the earth and its people from Moron , for we are their salvation , we the Astronomers must bring the miracle of facts, the joy of knowing to the people, gently washing moron from their minds, illuminating the darkest corners of dumb, lighting up a world of mumbo jumbo with the awe and wonder of Universe, adding to our order the minds of all humans till we rid the world of ignorance and Moron is defeated. Join the astronomers and follow in the footsteps of some really smart people, for every human on the eternal road of infinite study is one less followers of the dark forces of Moron. Spacetime

Solar system in Milky way

Starting with a view of our Milky Way galaxy, the orange gas in the animation represents the interstellar medium. The bow shock is created because the heliosphere is moving through like a boat through the water, crashing through the interstellar gases. The bow shock in front of the moving heliosphere is similar to the one observed by the Hubble Space Telescope. Click for animation. Credit: NASA/Walt Feimer

Solar System Planets (from smallest to largest)

(Pluto is no longer classified as a planet, but it's there for size comparison. As for the Sun, it was never a planet but is here for the very same reason.) I always wanted to see a one-by-one comparison of the sizes of the planets, so I put the numbers into my 3d program. These are all correct proportions (of size, not distance). Tamen, the final planet, was a world we created when we were children. Obsessed with size, we said it was 1,000 times larger than Earth's sun (this was actually only 100 times larger, because 1000 made the sun so small you couldn't really see it). We later learned that such a planet would have to much gravity that not only would no living thing survive, but you may get a nice little black hole started right there in the planet! Wow... and I just realized that had the sun have been sitting where it is in this video, it'd be sucked into the planet instantly. *Music Appropriately taken from season 1&2 of the BBC's Red Dwarf.

Wormholes and Time Travel - Ian Morison

Complete video at: http://fora.tv/2009/03/19/Ian_Morison_Its_About_Time Ian Morison, a professor of astronomy, examines the complex possibility of using a wormhole to travel through space and time. ----- Professor Ian Morison discusses time, one of the most mysterious concepts in our Universe. It is easy to describe how we define its passage and how we can make exceedingly accurate clocks but questions as to what determines the arrow of time and whether time travel is possible can tax the most brilliant minds! - Gresham College Ian Morison made his first telescope at the age of 12 with lenses given to him by his optician. Having studied Physics, Maths and Astronomy at Oxford he became a radio astronomer at the Jodrell Bank Observatory and teaches Astronomy and Cosmology at the University of Manchester. Over 25 years he has also taught Observational Astronomy to many hundreds of adult students in the North West of England. An active amateur optical astronomer, he is a council member and past president of the Society for Popular Astronomy in the United Kingdom. At Jodrell Bank he was a designer of the 217 KM MERLIN array and has coordinated the Project Phoenix SETI Observations using the Lovell Radio Telescope. He contributes astronomy articles and reviews for New Scientist and Astronomy Now, and produces a monthly sky guide on the Observatory's website.

Simple Astronomy Series - S.A.S #1 - Seasons

This video shows when are the start of the seasons and why. I call this the "21 Rule" since they start of the seasons are the 21st of the specific months. As the earth spins or orbits around the sun in one year, the Earth appears to tilts towards, and then away from the sun. (SEE SAS #6 for a diagram of this). The apparent tilt of Earths axis of daily rotation never exceeds about 23.5 degrees from the solar (sun) plane. Technically the axis tilt is a constant unchanging value of 23.5 degrees. In this discussion when I say (axis) tilt, I mean apparent tilt.... as in how we will see the sun throughout the year. The speed of this tilt is not constant, or linear as some would say. For example when heading into max. tilt, the tilt is "slowing down" and practically stopped for an instant before the tilt changes direction and gets faster once again. [This natural speeding up and slowing down in a periodic (repeating) manner is usually called "sinusoidal" motion since it can be described easilly by a sine (of the angle) equation. I will probably make a vid. of how to calculate the tilt of the Earth using this information. The common latitude lines on earth are not in reference to this tilt, but is in reference to the equator, hence a "fixed" latitude position. Longitude is also fixed and is in reference to a town in England called Greenwich; the standard followed sets this and all areas true North and South of this at 0 degrees longitude. In simple terms, latitude and longitude are just imaginary degree lines on the circle of the earth. http://wwp.greenwich2000.com/ ] Each season is 91.25 (approx. 90) days long, or 3 months. When a hemisphere (ex. northern part of the earth above the equator that is located in the middle of the poles) is tilted towards the sun or solar plane ("flatlike" orbit position around the sun) the Earth is warmer (ie. summer at max. tilt) at that location. Don't blast me with comments about the season starting on the 20 or 21 of the month. To keep it simple, let it all start either on the 20 or 21. If you consider both tilts of the equator above and below the solar plane you have a total (apparent) tilt of earths axis of about: 23.5 + 23.5 = 47 degrees. Ever here of the word solstice.. well it is usually used as a word describing winter and summer.. as in winter solstice. Sol means sun and stice means halt or stop... as when the Earth's (apparent) tilt per day and the sun's path location in the sky seems nearly stopped. The (apparent) tilt between these solstice times is called equinox. Spring and Fall are the equinox. Note, the line in the circle drawing represents the halfway point between north and south. The line tilts because the Earth (and hence north and south poles) is apparently tilting (with respect to the sun or solar plane) with the seasons. The "solar plane" or "ecliptic" is basically always the same and could be thought of as the "solar equator" in a sense. This plane extends to the Sun and the orbit of Earth around it. Due to the apparent tilt of the Earth changing daily, the apparent "solar equator" changes daily. In effect, it is incorrect to say the sun is always overhead at the defined equator line (centered between North and South of Earth). The people in the southern hemisphere, especially below 23.5 degrees cannot see the North Star at night. (correct me if I'm wrong on this). The "Tilt - lines" shown in the video are used as an aid to understanding the seasons, and it is in fact the "apparent tilt only" since the tilt of the Earth is a constant value of 23.5 degrees every day of the year.

PALOMAR TELESCOPE - Astronomy

Palomar Mountain is a mountain in the Palomar Mountain Range in northern San Diego County, California, United States. It is most famous as being home to the Palomar Observatory. It is also the location of Palomar Mountain State Park, a California state park. There are campgrounds for vacationers, as well as a campground for local schoolchildren. The park averages 70,000 visitors annually. It is one of the highest peaks in San Diego County, at 6,140 ft (1,871 m), although it is still dwarfed by the 11,500 ft (3,505 m) San Bernardino Mountains a little ways north in San Bernardino and Riverside counties and 14,500 ft (4,420 m) high Mount Whitney some 250 mi (402 km) north. South Grade Road, the stretch of San Diego County Route S6 going from California State Route 76 to the summit, is popular among sport bike riders and sports car drivers due to its challenging nature (over 20 hairpin turns over the distance of less than 7 mi (11 km)) and low traffic. Popularity and difficulty of the road is such that, on a typical warm-weather weekend, an average of two motorcycle crashes requiring medical attention occur in the area. At the base of Palomar Mountain on S6 is Oak Knoll Campground, formerly known as Palomar Gardens. Palomar Gardens was made somewhat famous by an earlier resident George Adamski. Adamski had an observatory at Palomar Gardens and photographed objects in the night sky that he claimed were UFOs. Adamski co-authored Flying Saucers Have Landed in 1953, about his alien encounter experiences. It is also home to the Palomar Outdoor School for 6th grade students in the San Diego Unified School District. Additionally, there is a small pond at the top of the mountain that is one of the few places in San Diego County stocked with trout during the hot summer months. The limit for anglers is five fish, and is usually pretty easy to achieve with small spinners such as Mepp's or Roostertail, or the usual dough baits or night crawlers.

Big Bang Astronomy Theories Swift satellite

Swift is a satellite designed by Penn State researchers and launched by NASA to study gamma-ray bursts. Launched in November of 2005, the satellite was named after the swift, a small, quickly moving bird. Catching a GRB is no easy task. The burst can appear from any direction without warning and can last for only a few milliseconds to just over a minute. So, the satellite has to move quickly and be in position to capture the data. According to NASA, no other satellite turns faster. In addition to GRBs, Swift searches and records other phenomena it observes in the sky.
